Imperial German Buckles.

Article about: Next, 3 buckles with identical bodies but with different makers/sellers on the tabs. This design is by far my favourite. Really classy feel IMO. Each buckle is finished differently, one galv

    Hello Anton,

Richard and Steve are really your guys for these Imperial buckles, but this appears to be a good model 1895 Prussian to me.

    Best,
    Adam

Thank you Gentlemen. I had no doubts about the face, but some of the oxidation on the rear had me a little concerned. Some of it appears like oxidation you would find when leather is present.

Hi Anton, you can see it's been worn on a belt for some time. The back is exactly what I would to see on a good honest buckle. Plenty of character, Cheers, Richard.

Hi Chaps, it's a while since I've posted on this thread so I thought I'd add my latest, some unit marked Saxons.

The first one is a M95 marked on the leather 134R (10th Saxony R.) based in Pladen. It matches an M16 marked in the same way posted earlier in the thread. So they're brothers I suppose!!!

QUESTION: - Why marked on the leather tab & not on the body as is usual with other Saxon buckles?

    The next one is a M95 made by G.H. Osang & unit marked 139.R. 5 (3 cancelled by over stamping with a 5 & J) C. II. 11th Saxon R. based in Dobeln.

QUESTION: - What does the C stand for? I thought it was company; but that should be K in German. Anybody know?

    Cheers,

    Richard.
