    Hi Chaps, I thought I'd post a couple of new Imperial purchases. My first is a M16 steel Telegraphers buckle. See below for the 1895 brass version.

    Second up a very rare nickle bodied Saxony buckle. As you can see it's nicely maker marked & also unit marked 13.R.J. for the Royal Saxon 2nd Jager battalion No 13. They were garrisoned in Dresden & during WW1 were part of 24th Division (XII Army) serving on the Western Front.

    One question though. Does the R in 13.R.J. stand for Regiment or Reserve?

    Richard...super buckles, especially the M16 Telegraphers ! Jager units were not upto Regimental strength only Battalion strength, and an "R" in italics is for Reserve...so "13.R.J." is for Reserve Jager Battalion 13.
