Hi Patgore, DRGM stands for - Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster (German Reich Registered Design). It's a general patent mark, Cheers, Richard.
Hi David, I can find no reference to this type of buckle being worn by the KuK in WW1. The design is very typical of the KuK storm troops and worn on cap badges like the 'Honved Sturm Bataillon 155'. The construction of the buckle is very German & not like the KuK ones at all. My guess is that it's a post WW1 German 'political' buckle. I'll keep an eye out for M&G; but they're not a known maker to me, Cheers, Richard.

The 1895 Gott Mit Uns on which the mark appears has no maker's or official regimental mark but a nice "copperplate" engraving: Musketier Daheim 3/161 Trier. Got it with a "button" belt, unmarked except for 99 (cms) size.
