Imperial m-95 buckle with strange padded belt

Article about: Imperial standard M-95 brass buckle belt is strange with padded device sewn on it and a leather protector for buckle. Belt I believe is WW1 as it has brass catch. Any suggestions welcome. ti

    Interesting piece, the home made clothes protector is quite neat, I have no idea what the pad is? Did he carry a machine gun I wonder and the pad was a buffer between the body and the metal?

    Very interesting, I love puzzles like this.... It makes it unique, and much more interesting than an unissued standard belt. Haven't a clue why this would have been done.

    The buckle protector could very well be a camo pad.
