I wish I could have seen what the expert told Phil. I don't know how I could say what I thought of the "artifacts" to a person who likely spent a lot of money.

Every collector makes mistakes now and then. If the buckle was original it would be worth less than $50. Hopefully you didn't pay more than that. Consider it a cheap lesson and do more research next time.
All the best
Dear Grigor,
Without wishing to appear rude or critical, the quality of the digital images that you provide are a little "challenging" to say the least.
From the images, your buckle appears to be an original M15 "Ersatz", however now having lost the original coated finish. Impossible to be certain from your images (for me at least), however the ears to the box appear distorted or damaged.
Regards and best wishes,
David
Thank you so much for your reply, David. You're right, the ears in the box are damaged. And I so sorry for the bad quality of the pictures, it's the phone's fault. Thanks again and have a nice day
Grigor
