Parade belt, with loop?

Just got in an imperial parade belt. The shellac surface is a bit rough as is often the case. DRGM marked on the hook. It came with what looks like a period done loop attached. It's on wearers left at the bottom of the belt. Any ideas, would that be for a sword hanger or????

It came with a Prussian buckle which didn't match condition wise. Prongs didn't match holes so happy it's never been together in the past. I'll find a better match for it...?
