Hi
A bit out of my usual sphere of interest with this one.
The cap has a strange inside with half lined crown and some kind of cloth sweatband ?
Could anyone put an opinion as to it's originality.
cheers for any help

Tony...never seen one like that before..it exhibits all the right construction methods & proportions, perhaps the sweatband was added after manufacture.....the lining looks period, what is the stamp ? Although there is a prescribed pattern of manufacture, I am sure there will be deviations such as this...so I am going to say IMO its an original..
Prost ! Steve.
Tony,
IMO a very nice Mutze. No noticeable mothing, in very great shape.

Gentlemen
you have made my day. Thank you.
I bought it on a hunch and a bit of a wing and a prayer. Pleased it's a good one.
Steve, the stamps are BA ?? 1916.
cheers
Tony
Tony..."B.A." (Bekliedung Amt = Clothing Department), it would be followed by a number that would give the identity of the Armee Korps the clothing depot was attached to....
Prost ! Steve.
Hello
Just saw this its not often we get to see the workings of a mütze may explain why sometimes we see a blue tint on a red band particularly with flash photography on some feldmützen.
