Greetings Friends...
I still have much to learn regarding Imperial-Era Cloth Headgear and would greatly appreciate any Information regarding this particular piece...

Hi Glenn,

Not sure what this is but I don't think its military. The field caps did not have a chinstrap unless they had a peak (medic 1908 cap being an example.) I think this chinstarp is post ww1 IMO. Also should have the red piping on the top crown as well.

This one has the national cockade where the state cockade needs to be as well.

Did it look as though it had ever had a peak that has come away ?

sorry to be not so positive, maybe someone else might be able to nail its origins ?
