    This thread is for Imperial Army Soft Headgear in wear--feel free to post any period photos here, but they must be:

    1. Soft headgear only (no helmets or Pickelhaubes);

    2. Imperial Army EM/NCO's & Officers only

    I have one or two to add but need to scan them so will add them later on......in the meantime here is one of a medic, the back of the postcard he has written "here is a picture of me in my new fieldgrey uniform" ..................

    Here are some of my pictures in a sort of order ................the idea is to show the cap in wear from 1890 to 1918 via original pictures.

    Hopefully it will help show the style changes over the years and give a perspective of what the caps looked like on the heads of those who owned them first time round.

    Its a montage really...........

    In 1908 a field cap was authorised for wear by medics/technical troops and drivers that was basically an other ranks cap with a peak and chinstrap added....................here are some in wear.
