Looks as if most of the red piping has been lost, or chewed away by moths. That would be quite difficult to replace, methinks. Also missing the reichskokarde.
Authentic cap, but the value is rather low, IMHO, and these are far from rare items.

Is it possible that, there never has been a Reichskokarde (before 1897?) I can't see any traces of assembling on the photo.

I'm still not sure that this is artillery cap. Maybe Reichsbahn?
Did all the imperial Reichsbahn visors had black-white "Preussen" Kokarde or it depended on the Land?

hard to say on those pictures, may well be for artillery. The cockade depended on which state ie Prussia or Bavaria etc the unit was from.
