    Hi

    Just finished off an idea I've been working on for a while.

    Finally got the last piece in the puzzle in the shape of a 1867 model infantry cap.

    As such I present a .....

    ....... "snap shot" (photo pun) of the development of the nco cap from start to finish of the second Reich.


    A quick look at NCO caps 1871 to 1920



    1st row: from left to right: Saxon infantry regt (circa 1880); prussian reservists artillery regt (circa 1890); wurtembourg infantry regt (circa 1900); saxon regt 108 (circa 1910)

    2nd row: right to left: Prussian artillery (field cap) circa 1908; prussian artillery (service cap dated 1916 to a garde regt); prussian infantry regt (circa 1919 provisional reichswehr); prussian infantry stamped to regt 16 and dated 1924(reichswehr).

    Thank you very much Spandau for this beautiful and educational display! I have yet to acquire a single pre WW2 visor cap. Your caps are truly wonderful!

    Thanks. It's an idea I'm currently expanding on and have a project in hand to write a book on the development of the army cap.

    Hopefully it will come to fruition later in the year/early next year.

    latest addition. xmas present from the wife and even wrapped up for xmas day and put under the tree......lucky me. the missing nco cap a 1908 issue peaked field cap for medical staff.
