Hi
My latest Imperial cap.
I have been looking for a cap with masking band for a while and finally one has come my way.
This one sports a leather peak and buckled chin strap along with the masking band sown onto the cap band. The band works well as only by pulling back the cotton band can you see the fine blue velvet underneath.
The wear and colour changes around the band indicate this has been on a while and I am happy that it is original to the cap.
The crown is made from the wool/tunic style cloth making it in line with the 1915 regulations. It is in excellent condition with a couple of moth nips and little bit of tracking but that's ok for the age.
Very nice shape and displays very nicely.
The interior is brown cotton with the logo German industry surrounded by oakleafs and a crown printed on it. All very patriotic. The sweatband is oilskin. Materials all compatible with later war manufacturing.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look. Feel free to post any you may have...the more the merrier.
cheers
tony
