    Dear all,
I recently acquired a Kaiserliche Marine flat hat with a band from a 'Werft Division,' and I was curious because of its small size if it were a private purchase child's hat instead of a service cap. I know the German navy employed boys, especially towards the end of the war, and a 'werft division' is associated with dock guards. Tape measure for scale. Any help would be appreciated.

How small do you estimate it to be? I have seen TR men's visors as small as a size 52.
    (Hat looks good, btw).

Thanks for the replies! It comes out around 51 cm for the inner circumference. It also smells like it came out of a cigar shop hahaha

I was also wondering if anyone knows where the owner of this hat was stationed. The full tally says: 5.I. Werft = Division I.5.
