Nice, that you bothered to post the Pickelhaube.
A pickelhaube in this condition and with the excellent sunburst insignia in front, simply makes my day.
    PS
Is that one of those fantaastic Garde du Corps helmets in your avatar!?
I really like that helmet - you have one?
Next youll be telling us, that you also have a Pickelhaube for that Saxon Garde Reiter Regiment which used the lion on the Pickelhaube for parades.

It's the eagle of an Enlisted man's Gardekurassier. It's the same helmet as GdC used. Next I have to tell you that I don't have a Gardreiter helmet, that's still on my want list...

I hope there will not be any hate mails or so ;-))

Here's the complete helmet of my avatar...

    Simply fantastic.
    Thanks for showing.
Just out of interest; how is the weight distribution of the helmet, is it top heavy and is the eagle hollow (I assume it is hollow)?
(I know you dont prance around at home wearing the helmet all day).
BTW you kow the 'hate' comment was tongue in cheek

Stuka, thanks for link. I remember that collection, but just didnt tie it to Adler.
It was a while back after all.

This is as good as or better than tinpots or insignia from other eras IMO

Yes, it's hollow, but nevertheless it's also top heavy... but not that much. I suppose the neck guard of the helmet provides some counterweight...

PS I know you guys were just joking, just tried to get you back ;-))

What a fantastic helmet. Hell I have a old felt one, no visor, with a spike and a eagle that I thought was pretty cool. I must say I am impressed.

    Thanks for sharing it.
