1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse ring stamped KO

Just arrived today, two 1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. klasse. I'm sorry for the poor photo's but I couldn't wait to show and gain the forums opinions. Both show signs of age and are a little worn but I like the KO crosses. I have posted separately as they are different cores. This example has the closed 4 and a crisp ring stamp.

The ribbon on this one is particularly interesting (though I'm guessing it doesn't mean anything special, other than personal preference?).

The bow is very interesting. It must be personal only to the recipient as I've not seen a ribbon like this before.

The ribbon tied like this is refered to as a "woman's bow"
Women would wear the cross of their deceased husband or son.

Thank you for the information on the ribbon Greg. This new information brings a whole new aspect to this Eisernes Kreuz 2 Klasse. I am so pleased that I brought this one with a bow tied ribbon like this, after all it's not just the cross we are collecting it's the history that comes with it that matters.
