    Default 1921 - 1923 Panzer Badge

Attached are photos of a purportedly genuine 1921 - 1923 Panzer Badge.

Lots of fine details do not match up with originals posted on this forum. However, since it is produced in 1921 -1923 I'm not sure that the same dies were used.

In any case, it's crusty and has funky attachment lugs - atypical of any other abzeichen I've seen except for a few 1813 EK1s.

A tricky customer indeed the Weimar period tank badge,I think that the waters have been so muddied by years of fakes that I don't know if any one knows for sure what is good and what isn't ! This one looks better than most apart from the amount of verdigree on it makes it look like it has spent most of its life in a urinal ! I think that possibly 1 in every 1000 that is seen could be an original. Ferg1.

Here is an example I own. I bought it several years ago.It is hollow with a plated over reverse and no MM. 800 mark on pin. I am not sure (as with the majority of these badges) if this is a real one .For sure, the detail is exellent and the workmanship superb, note the cut out nostrils and the wafer thin slivver of silver between the two holes ,fine work indeed but who knows. All I can say is it can't have been a cheap item to produce.Ferg1.
