Exclamation 2 Imperial 1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse, MAKER MARK CONFUSION!! HELP!!!!

I NEED HELP, PLEASE! I have a pair of Imperial 1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse that have a set of maker marks that I need identified by someone experienced. I had posted the one on the parade mount and was told it was "Z" for Zeich of Berlin. Now I've just acquired another Imperial 1914 Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse with a "Z" or an "N"? Which is which?? I'm thinking the parade mount is an "N" now instead of "Z" and the new EK2 is actually a "Z". Looking for some experienced opinions.

I would say that both could be either Z or N.

    Question

    Marc,
That doesn't make sense when compared with the way this S-W is marked along the ring instead of across it, as would be the case if the first is Z and the second N. Do you have a reference?
All the Imperial cross markers marks go with the ring that I've seen. I've only seen Third Reich EKs, with number maker marks, go across the ring.

    Marc,

All the Imperial cross markers marks go with the ring.
    That is incorrect.
Also, it would be near impossible to mark S-W across the ring, not so with a single letter.

What are the measurments in mm? The trifold ribbon almost strikes me as a Prinzen EKII. But would need exact measurement to be sure.

Personally, I've always thought it was as I stated, and reference in Frank Wernitz book (page 222 and 223) supports the theory :-)
BTW it would be a very wide Z and a very wide N , if it should be the other way around ! And many other makers marked their crosses that way, Godet, Hofstätter and Kluge just to mention a few !
    That's what I think ;-)

    Thumbs up

    Marc,
would it be asking too much to post a picture of those two pages from that book for my reference? I hope it didn't appear that I doubted your opinion or experience, it just went against what I thought I knew.
I really would appreciate a few pictures of the information for reference.
