    Default another Prinzen Ek2

for someone that does not collect 2nd class crosses, this is my second one
this year. I usually pass over Ek2s but I do like to pick up the harder to
find or unusual variations, so when this one came up for sale, I figured--
    why not.

    This is a 3/4 sized cross (34.8mm X 34.9mm) made by Zimmerman.

It is a bit rough but IMO the rarity of it makes up for condition issues.

Someday I hope to find a Prinzen first class to go with my Ek2s.

I apologize for the quick scans. When time permits, I will try and do
    a proper picture.

    Thanks Ralph.
It's just another example of how little self control I have.

Nice piece. It is said these are four piece construction crosses with two pieces of hollow struck core.
Jumpring on yours looks like drilled through the platform and moving freely. Or is it just my Friday illusion?
Anyway, welcome to the CFZ Prinzen club!!!

    Very nice cross and pictures.

    Thanks for the kind words.
Yes, mine is drilled through and the jump ring moves freely within it.

Nice variation, typical for 1813 Prinzens. Never seen it on 1914 crosses. Congrats!

...I just recalled how I bought this piece, three years ago. There were 5 auctions in one time on ebay for Prinzen crosses all eras, installed by one seller. Four of them were stepped core fakes, fifth one was this CFZ. It sold cheapest...
