Antique sword - need some help

Article about: Good evening, i recently got this beautiful sabre. I hope my pictures are clear enough for somebody here to tell me more about it. Thnks in advance! have a nice day

    The sword is typical of the very poorly made Asian Indian copies.
    Terrible metal casting and finishing. The blade is poorly made also.
    I hope you didn't put much money into it sir.

    The second one appears to have some genuine age and looks well-made, especially in comparison with the first one. Unfortunately, the blade also appears to have been shortened considerably, making it now out-of-proportion to the hilt and thereby greatly lessening its possible value to a collector. Now it's more a relic than a collectable sword. I think the first one isn't even Indian, but more likely Chinese junk.

    Nothing compares with pictures of the quality workmanship of a genuine example compared to the inferior work of a poorly made copy.
