Prussian Garde Feld artillerie, officers helmet I would say.
The star-screws can be find separatly.
Could you provide a picture from the inside?
Are there any marks in?
That's exactly what I would say...

Indeed a pitty! But it seems a honest helmet. Where about is thise date and is it stamped or written!
Maybe it's not so good condition but you can always display a helmetcover on this haube because the shape of the shell is still good...
A date in a private purchase pickelhaube?... where is that located and can you show a picture of that?

Adler[/QUOTEWhy in heck would I want to cover this helmet up with a cover , there is nothing wrong with it as it is. A good honest helmet. As for the date, perhaps it is the date it was captured and no I cannot get a decent picture of the date. John.
