Hello everyone, I posted this cap badge on the imperial Russian forum at first but after looking around the internet, I am in fact wondering if this is actually an Austro-Hungarian cap badge? The seller is stating that it is an imperial Russian officers cap badge from ww1.
I’m putting a link here to my original post from the other forum https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/imper...ge-ww1-733416/
Please take a look, and also here are the stills from the seller also.

    Hi, mate.
I would say that the coat of arms is that of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Doppeladler too.

Thanks for getting back. Do you think this is an authentic piece from WW1? They state that it’s to hold a plume in a cap from that era.
As it’s not Russian do you have any idea on the correct price? As it’s being sold for £125 but under the listing of imperial Russian WW1 era.

    All the best

Well I do not know if I can help you with your questions.
Effectively it looks like an artifact to hold the feather of a hat. I do not know if it will be from the time of the IWW and I am not familiar with the prices of those objects. In any case it is not the forum's policy to make evaluations but, personally, I think that 125 pounds is a very high price.

    Best regards.

Thank you Santi for getting back and leaving feedback. Your advice has helped me to make a decision. I will forget about this item as it does not sit right with me also how it was incorrectly identified.
    All the best.
