Hello all,
Can anyone better identify these better for me?
William Kramer
Hi William
I am thinking...M1899 Krag, W1 UK made Arisaka (Japan) the last maybe a m24 mauser .
Eric
I agree with the middle one, Arisaka cut down
Actually - what does it mean "UK made Arisaka" - could anybody explane it a bit of more for me ?
Due to a shortage of weapons the UK in WW1, Britain bought type 30 rifles from Japan. I cannot add any info on the bayonet sorry.
Cheers, Ade.

Can't see anything to identify the Arisaka as having any British connection from the photograph.
Ade is correct [of course !] - the UK did purchase some Arisakas in WW1 - I believe they were used initially by the Royal Navy and were subsequently supplied to the White Russians.
If it was British it would be quite rare.

Richie
Thank you, gents, - it´s getting clear for me now
There were a lot of those Arisaka rifles (with bayonets) in Estonia and Finland after 1WW as well - supplied by Japan to tzarist Russia because of shortage of weapons... But I didn´t know anything about supply of those Arisaka´s into UK as well (at the same time).
If you check out the period photos from Russia during the WW1 Period, it seems there are as many Arisaka Bayonets and Rifles in them as there are Mosin Nagants. Always wondered why, but perhaps they were used more as secondary rifles and those troops took more photos??
Best regards!
