Kevin...DO NOT CLEAN ! do not even attempt to clean, you will destroy the finish, it looks to be gilt washed, you will render it totally valueless ! look at what is under the gilt ....a base metal, if you clean, that is what you will reveal, the award was gilded when originally made....
