A couple of single EK2 ribbonbars.....

Nothing exciting but I like them! We have a single ribbonbar still mounted on it's backing card and another single bar with a mini EK motif on it. Can anyone explain the purpose of the mini EK please? Is it to represent the wearer earning both classes of the EK, just a decoration...... or something else?

Adrian, these are really cool! Love the first one still on its card, not seen that before. It also amazes me how detailed the small ribbon motifs were.

Great pieces.

I really think the ones with the mini Ek are some pretty cool items and the
carded singles are getting real hard to find.

You pose a good question. I like the idea of it representing a Ek1 but I have been told by someone on another forum who has forgotten more about ribbon bars then most of us
will ever know that the mini Ek is just a vanity piece,----------a little imperial BLING.

Thanks for the comments guys, it's an curious theory about the 'bling' Greg. I too would like to think it represents the EK1 but a 'vanity' piece is just as interesting!
If anyone is interested, member HPL2008 has posted a carded Imperial buttonhole in this (Post #4) thread which I'm rather envious of.
