Sorry I can not be of much help with this. I know that
sets like this did exist but quite truthfully I have some
miss givings about this one. It looks to me like the Ek1
does not fit the case very well. I think this is a period
Imperial case but not for iron crosses. BUT I may be
    wrong. --- I hope I am wrong.

When it comes to cases, my opinion does not count for much.
Hopefully Miro or someone else might have a better handle on this.

    Thanks Greg ,

The medals did not come with the case , the ek1 I have is deeply convex with a long pin, so that's why it appears a little wrong . I am pretty sure The felt is fitted for an iron crosses .

Here is a better pic ,

    Thanks for the better pic.
The Ek2 seems to fit but I still not convinced that
a iron cross went in the left hand spot. The case
just does not look indented and fitted the same way
    the Ek2 fits.

Keep in mind these were not a issued item , and were privately made .

Not sure if you can see the image clearly , it appears as if a first class iron cross has been stored in the left hand side ,

Not sure what other iron cross shape medal your talking about would make this indentation ?

It must be just the photos. If it is fitted for a Ek shaped
medal, then most likely it was a Iron Cross.

Could be your monitor brightness/contrast , I can see the indentation in the felt clearly .
