There are some real experts amongst the membership (not me!) but if was to take a punt, based on the crown, the inner corners, pebbled core and clam shell screw back I am thinking Petz & Lorenz TR made for WWI recipients.
Very nice piece in any case.

Is that not a Schickle cross?

Thanks guys.
With this being a Schickle I now have the ek2 one piece version, a pin back 1 piece and now the screwback version too.
I compared this ek1 with my ek2 and the paint is almost identical. Looks like skin in the right light.
Can't believe I was able to get one in this condition, over 100 years old and just like it was made this morning.
I have to say that I do prefer Imperial EKs to their TR brethern.

Very close Mark.
P-L crosses are very very close in appearance to Schickle made crosses.
The main difference is in some small details of the crown. I can never keep them
straight so i made this photoshop cheat sheet as a reminder.
Thanks Greg, me neither!
Funny enough I considered Schickle but went the other way! I must hi-jack your crib sheet and keep it in my files!!

Jamie,
What an absolutely beautiful cross! There is no finer example I see posted in our Forum. Well done!
