New arrival this morning. A lovely condition Imperial Iron Cross 1st Class by Otto Schickle.

I now have the 1st and 2nd Class versions of the one piece. Love the paint finish...

I was wondering what sort of metal it was made out of; is it all magnetic iron?

I believe, one piece crosses are of non-iron metals.

Here an example of 2nd Class, possibly by same maker.

I have always believed that they are made of Nuesilber.
