Best wait for Greg/Chopperman to chime in on this one, Terry...he's pretty good with the Imperial crosses...
I'm not too sure about the ribbon, but to my eyes the cross looks okay as long as it's a 3-piece cross...
    cheers, Glenn

    I don't like it. I am pretty sure it's a 9th bead fake.
The crown details are hard to make out because of
the lifting paint, but the date is wrong for an issue
    cross.

Take a look at the "8" in the date, The cross in question
has an over / under style 8. ( one loop of the 8 appears to
lay over the top of the other loop of the 8)---over and under.

Original issue crosses use a flat 8.--That is-- no perceived
overlap to the loops in the 8.

Here is a date from a 9th bead fake cross.---

This shows a comparison of a issue Wagner cross
and a 9th bead fake. ( Godet, Wager and AWS all
    used a flat style "8".

Oh, and BTW-- I mentioned the paint is lifting of the
core. A issue 1870 was chemically blacked NOT painted.

    Hi Steve,
Thanks but believe me, I am no expert.

All Imperial Ek2s had Fredrich Wilhelms initials on them.

Yes, I see the FW initials now. Looked like missing
