Hi all, I am considering the purchase of this EK1 and wanted expert opinion on its authenticity as a true WW1 era medal.
One thing I noticed that gives me pause, is the crown.
On the lower part of this one, there are only 4 raised pimples.
On another cross I have, which has been authenticated by chopperman and others, there are 6 of these pimples.
Did different mfgs put different numbers of these pimples.
I have circled the part of the crown I am referring to in red in the last picture below.
I apologize that the circle is not more noticeable and the placement of the picture in the picture stack.

I agree completely. Nice cross.
Manufacture's used a bit of "artistic license" when it came to the details of
the core designs. That is a good thing for us because it helps us to put
a maker to a cross. There were many different styles used and some makers
used several different designs ( KO used at least 3)
Off the top of my head, I can't put a name to yours but with some digging I may
be able to.
