Cameron, the maker "H.J.Wilm (Hof und Silberschmiede) of Berlin"....always a favourite of mine !, the quality is there with a Wilm ! one of the oldest and most distinguished jewellers and medal makers in Germany....founded in 1767 the Wilm firm has been handed down from father to son for seven generations ! Designers and makers of the civilian "Pour le Merite" (Blue Max)...and responsible for crafting Hans Rudels Golden oak leaves with diamonds ! The firm still exist today, moving to Hamburg and opening a shop on the Island of Sylt, continuing the tradition of the name Wilm..."Jewellier und Goldschmied Mark-Andreas Wilm"
    Prost ! Steve.

    Hi

Sorry to "bump" an old thread but I was just wondering if it would be possible to say if this is a early or late war cross.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

    Hi Cameron,
Sorry to say, but the short answer is no. We can't really tell a early from
late with these. We don't see any real change with 2nd class crosses until
the 1930s when the larger size was adopted and also when we start seeing
    frosted beading and non-silver frames.
