    Only just saw this series of posts Anderson, but thank you for the information. It will be very helpful as I plan to add a WW1 trench knife to my Imperial German collection at some stage in the near future.

    I do hope Rescue190 was able to get a refund.

    Good luck, and be careful of any with the "Gottieb Hammersfahr" mark, as it is faked widely. Our hobby it's sad to say, is infested with fraudsters and crooks as well as honest decent folk who like to help. But if you study the pictures of the real knifes, you should be able to recognize the fakes. Knowledge is power, as they say.
