Default Flyiing helmet and goggles for consideration

While I don't as a rule collect first war stuff, I recently bought this German leather flying cap.( at least I think I did )
It is a Black/blue colour rather than the brown often encountered. It has the neck flap and the right style of snaps ( not Prym though ) and a wool lining. No makers mark to be seen......

Also the goggles - are they period? The body / lens is celluloid-like material and they have a anti-glare zone at the top. Too fragile and lightweight to be dispatch or vehicle goggles, has anyone seen ones like this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated fellas!

    Cheers, Dan

Thanks to all ( especially Ned's revelation - I'll alert the authorities!! )
I guess a lot of ww1 gear was common to other "magnificent men" of the time?

    Hi Dan

I have had several views of this thread. Are the lenses removable?

I am attaching a couple of scans from Mick Prodger's Book - Vintage Flying Helmets, Pp 138 / 139.

    Cheers

No Tim, the lenses are not removable. They are two pieces of molded or vacuum formed celluloid that pinches the fur and holds it in place around the rim. Thanks for the photos - mine looks like the cap second from last.
