German/Austrian collar tab or patch?

This came in a box with some WWI medals and I was wondering if it's a collar tab or something else from a uniform, the material is green grey.

Any ideas if it's German or Austrian or could it be something entirely different.

I haven't been able to find any decent photos of Italian insignia online. There were a few photos of a Luftwaffe pilot killed in Finland in the box too so I wonder if it's Finnish? The search goes on.
