    With award documents, bestowed upon Prussian Major Wilhelm Jordens, Adjutant of the “Generalkommandos XXIII. Reserve Corps”, who served as an Officer in German South West Africa, and later during the WWI; group mounted as originally worn, comprising: Prussia, Order of Hohenzollern, Knight’s Cross w/Swords, silver gilt and enamels, bottom marked “FR938”, official WWI period issue; Iron Cross 2nd. Cl. 1914; Prussia, Order of the Crown Fourth Class w/Swords, bronze gilt, bottom arm marked “W” (with award document, dated 1905); Hindenburg Cross (with award document, dated 1935); South West Africa Colonial medal, clasps Herero-Land”, “Gross-Namaland” (with award document, dated 1907); Centennial Wilhelm Medal; Saxony, Albert Order, Knight First Class w/Swords, in Gold and enamels (with award document, dated 1907); Wurttemberg, Friedrich Order, Knight Cross First Class w/Swords, in silver gilt and enamels (with award document, dated October 1916); Hamburg, Hanseatic Cross, silvered, enameled, enamel crack to one arm (with award document, dated 1916); Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Military Merit Cross 2nd Cl., bronze-gilt, issue without date on bottom arm (issued only during 1905-08) for Colonial Services (with award document, dated 1908); Lubeck, Hanseatic Cross, silvered, enameled, enamel crack to one arm (with award document, dated 1916); Prussian Long Service Officer’s Cross, bronze-gilt; Award document for Colonial Decoration First Class, dated 1923; awards generally very fine or better

    Noel, welcome to the Imperial German sub forum ! this is indeed an outstanding set ! especially with provanance ! there are some rare medals here, sadly tinged with Prussian brutality !.....his "South West Africa Colonial medal, clasps "Herero-Land” with award document, dated 1907" not Prussia's finest hour, obviously involved what most historians refer to as the genocide of the Herero people (1904-07), such is Imperialism !
