I found 1 of these helmets for sale. Everything looks to be authentic but the guy wants a pretty penny $3000. What are they really worth.

Hello,
no good to me.
cheers
Kris
Hi, welcome to the forum. We don't do valuations on the site I'm afraid. I would advise you to look at dealer sites to gauge whether you want to pay that for the helmet. There are also a lot of these on E bay so be warned..................
I would be asking if it was real rather than what's it worth.
good luck
cheers
Tony
The helmet actually has a possibility to be legit from the limited pics provided IMO but more detailed direct level front-on and side views would be needed to see if the E/H/C flare has the near vertical spec as well as the smooth, almost asymmetrical shape of the front drop to rear 'cut-out'. These details are what make the M18 E/H/C very difficult to recreate. The first steps, of course are to check to maker-mark and size because if it's not a clear ET64 (the vent lugs look to be 64's) in gothic script it's not authentic. Next is to check the dome for a steel/rolling/lot stamping number as another verification. This one would be an early war reissue, because of the LW decal and M31 liner but that's not uncommon at all with these lids. If it's real these are very rare and valuable.

The helmet is 100% correct. Jim G.
