What a brilliant find and in such good condition! Wojta is a Polish surname, i wonder if these were reissued to the polish army in the 1920s like a lot of other German gear?...

its a strong possibility - as a manufacturing date of June 1918 is pushing it a bit for this to have been actually used in WW1. When you take into account that's when it was dated at the manufacturing plant, what's the chances it ever made it to the front? But then again the mask is a 1917 model, and there are no dates on it.

Thinking about it though there were Poles in the German army in WW1, in those days Silesia was part of Germany!...
