It is from a German touring club, 1909/1910.
For 6 hours driving, I believe 169 km.

On a high wheel bicycle! (Radfahrer = Bicycle....I think)

So a Cycle touring club. So roughly 100 mile tour
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    Close enough, a cyclist.

Don't know what would be more painful. 100 miles on a high wheel or 100 miles in an early car on unpaved roads...BOTH certainly deserving of an award!

It actually says "Allgemeine Radfahrer Union", which means "General Cyclist Union".

Thanks for the great info!Maybe it was brought over here by a german immigrant, probably needed the money and sold it for the silver content, its marked 990 on the edge, almost pure silver.Yeah 100 miles on a bike of that era would be something! We have Ragbri here in Iowa,a large group start at the west border of the state and end up dipping their bike tire in the mississippi .A couple hundred miles, but they are using high tech modern mountain bikes, and they are still hurting when they finish,if they do!
