Is this a German sleeve patch?

Article about: Hoping for help on this one, no idea if its German or French although its on the cover of a German officers ww.1 photo album. I am guessing its artillery?, but stand to be corrected. Be nice

    Hoping for help on this one, no idea if its German or French although its on the cover of a German officers ww.1 photo album. I am guessing its artillery?, but stand to be corrected. Be nice if its German. It measures five and a half by three and a half centimetres.
