    Kris,

Does the loop hole still slide open and closed and what kind of trip do you go on to find one of those by the sea?

It's for trenches, German made, many many in Alsace, you can fire by the hole.

    Hey Tony,

all moveable parts are stuck by oxydation!
Maybe with lots of patience and skill, one would be able to loosen the parts.
I might have made it sound adventurous but I just went collecting the stuff I bought on the internet. The items were rescued many years ago and still sit in barns and farms on the sea side (Flanders fields).

    cheers

Perhaps lots of oil and leave it to soak for ages.

I have a different model of plate where the side panels move, they were very stiff but now move freely.

You will indeed find many different models! For one; every nationality must have had there own models, next will be the different purposes they were need for......
