Glance into the heart of a WWI German U-boat

Article about: Just a few photos but interesting. Wouldn't want to be in one of these underwater....ever... A rare glance into the heart of a WWI German U-boat - Business Insider Regards, Michael

WWI, the Germans lost 178 U-boats, with almost 5,000 men killed, this equaled a casualty rate of over one out of 3. So, they went from a 1/3 loss rate to a 3/4 rate the next time around. Apparently, the Allied technology could, indeed, solve problems.

If it's not a hand wheel it's a length of pipe, damn these things were complicated!

Amazing pics, thanks for this. Takes a very special sort of person to serve on these things.

I've been on board 2 decommissioned subs, and it's always clear how tough and well disciplined you'd have to be, especially for long periods of time.
