    This has just come up for sale and while it's an attention grabber, I'm still new at this so any help with regarding to it's authenticity would be greatly appreciated!

    If it's been painted with gold lacquer it will be removed by the acetone (Nail polish remover works), if it's genuinely gilded it won't touch it. Here endeth the lesson.
