    Here are the German WW1 Items I got today at the Antique Market, a nice IC 1 ( I think there is a small makers mark on the back of the pin, I have tried to show it) and this Bayonet, both the blade and the scabbard are marked M. 2 any ideas?

    Notice the 3 "cuts" in the handle

    Nice items, but I wouldn't read too much into those 'cuts' to the bayonet grip. I doubt if they signify what you might be thinking!

    Would like to see some better pictures of the bayonet. Looks like an S1914 made by Sampsonwerke. I suppose the M.3. could stand for 3rd munitions column.
