Very good only for a week.
Looking for militaria from 38. Batterie, Heeres Küsten Artillerie Regiment 977, also from 31, 32 and 36. Batterie.
I think Christmas has come early for you! Very nice finds.
Thanks for reply Adrian and colletorww2,
The question was: is all the stuff WW1?
All looks WW1 to me. You can date the binoculars exactly from the serial number.
How I do to find the date please?
Edit: Just added a link.
OK I find it 1915/1916 .
Carfin, items are original period pieces from WW1, all except, the "Buttonhole" medal ribbon containing the "Hindenburg Cross ribbon, which will obviously,be from 1934 on. I especially like the Regimentally marked G98 muzzle cap, marked 172.R. 1.17. = 1st Company, 17th Weapon, "3. Ober-Elsässiches Infanterie-Regt. Nr.172 (Neubreisach) XV Armee Korps", Prost ! Steve.
"The German Army is the perfectly adapted, perfectly running Machine. The difference is that the Germans are organised with a view to War...with the cold, hard, practical and business-like purpose of winning victories."
