Half-width ribbon bar?

Hi, can anyone tell me if this half-width ribbon bar is real and if it is how common they are? This one packs four ribbons (EK2, Hindenburg, Silesian, Lubeck) into a bar 3cm x 1.5cm. Also, can anyone comment on the catch - it isn't like any I have seen before. Thanks Terry
