I know very little about them. I going to hold off until a few others chime in. Your vote is thumbs down. Thanks for your comment unimarc!

Marc is right to be very cautious on this one.
I would really need to see much better, good detail
pictures of the front and back.
The fakes of this style cross are very, very good.

I have to agree with Marc on this one. I would not
take a chance on this one.
Great thread and collection on imperial EKs Greg! This one surfaced among some third reich items. Not surprised...it seems to lack quality of the craft!! Thanks!
-
Thank you.
Quality of Imperial crosses really dropped off
between the wars and into ww2. I have a mint
BH Mayer screwback made in the 30'-40s. It is
a real looker but if you were to hold it side by side
to a early Godet, or Hansen, there is no denying
the quality and workmanship of the early crosses.

I learned my lesson the hard way !
Fortunately I got to return it, as described in earlier tread !
Saved by Greg :-)

In my opinion an original Schuarte & Hoehfeld TR produced EK1.
Compare to the example shown here.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
-
There are too many fakes during collecting EKs. In this March, from the same seller, I bought two EKs at the second hand market in Stuttgart. One is EK I 1914, J.H.Werner Berlin and the other is EK I 1939 with maker mark "51" at the pin. The seller promised both the crosses were from the veteran... Palapalapala
But one of my friends in Berlin told me that the EK I 1939 maker mark 51 is a " piece of shit " while the the EK I 1914 is a rare version.
Anyway, it is still long way for hobby.
