    Guys I have a convex WW1 EK1 Maker marked Y , and 800 for silver .

    Is Y still a unknown maker ?
Can you post a picture, I do not recall ever seeing an authentic
    "Y" marked 1914 1st class.

Greg is right, mini is a fake. Every week he offers one for sale. Check the rim, youŽll see the casting seam.
Unimarc, your cross is A-type, not B-type. Great cross for 212 euros...

    Hi Miro,

Greg corrected me also on the type :-)
On the other hand I am quite happy it is an A type, as far as I understand the awarded type :-?

    Mfg
    Marc

Ps you followed the auction as well, since you are aware of the final price ?

    Australia,
Thanks for the pictures. That is a good original cross.

About the mark----"Y" is not a recognized maker.
I spent the last hour doing some searching and found
two others posted on another forum and no one sees
to have a clue about the "Y" mark. Most people seem
to think that the marks on the underside of the pin are
a quality control stamp used by the cross maker and not
    actually a "makers mark".

These "Y" marked crosses must be hard to find as I did
not remember ever seeing one and I found only 2 while
    doing a quick search.

Do you mind if I share your photos on another forum?
Perhaps they will still some more discussion.

No problems greg , share away .

I purchased this one from the US from a relative of a veteran , they were told that it was a bringback .
But believe the piece not the story as they say!

I am tempted to give this one a light cleaning

Greg already answered you. A-type is award type, although not every A-type is awarded cross, as these A-types were made until 1914. According to slightly poorer quality (which reflected in the low price) I would say yours is from jubilee era at best (same seller offered oakleaves in the same time). For comparison, yesterday was sold one A-type which is - IMO - later than yours. Price was 403 euros although guy shipped only to Germany.

But donŽt worry, 212 euros is very good price for such A-type cross. In the same time, there was an auction for same type with repaired jumpring and lots of rust on both sides - I gave up watching at 205 euros...

PS: I follow all interesting auctions

I agree--the earlier the cross, the sharper the details.
