I'm not into mint pieces either :-)

I prefer worn pieces that appeals to me, like you guys, with patina . I just prefer the unchanged ones I guess . But I totally follow your drift about character and personal touch on the altered ones :-)
The K.M.S.T below, has the degree of wear I prefer ;-)

Ps. Greg, note the stand. I finally had to buy them in the US, where you got yours :-) it was impossible to obtain this type in DK or Germany !

Default 4 new EK II 1914s

    Hi guys,

I was finally able to pick up my EKs from the post office. One has a replacement ribbon ring, one is marked FR, and the others, K, and KO.

    Hope you like them!

I like the KOs core, particularly the oak leaves on the back. They stand out better than the rest, imo.

Hi, nice crosses. I´d say KO is the cross on the far left. And the cross, you marked as KO, is in fact unique CD 800 core.

Interesting! I just assumed it was one of their core types (I think Greg said they have 3 different core types).

How would a KO ribbon ring end up on a CD 800 core?

This is the only CD 800 core type. Google it for evidence. KO replacement ribbon ring, as KO crosses were produced in huge amounts, is quite common choice when recompleting the cross. And, btw I think KO has more than 3 cores. I know about two unique (one of them is on your photo, that piece on far left) and at least three generic.
