I was looking for these more than two years without any trace, now I secured them both. After 1st class AWS first core I found also the 2nd class. EK2 has the same reverse as 1870er from this maker, so EK1 wasn´t enough

    Hi Marc,
Yes, AWS is known for their three unique cores (+ generic slant W), that were used (mainly and I think only the third core) by just 1 other maker - Juncker.

    Miro,
    To answer your question.
The Type 2 AWS has not been found in 2nd class. (yet)

Thanks, Greg! This what I thought - 2nd core/2nd class is either very rare, or doesn´t exist at all.

    Unimarked

Which means no marker´s mark, as is typical from AWS EK1s (impossible to put it on the EK2 ring), but bearing all other typical features of AWS EK2: opened (not soldered) ribbon ring with TR diameter, and jumpring soldered to frame via hump (platform).

    Thanks Miro,
I thought, that maybe just the letters AWS could have been used on the ring, not the AWS crest :-)

Not bad thoughts, Marc. To be honest, it is very hard to say if all are unmarked, or if there are some pieces marked AWS or 925 (those silver ones). EK2s by AWS/Juncker are far more scarcer than EK1s, so it would be foolish from me to claim something about them in general. I saw on eBay many "rare" AWS EK1 screwbacks, pillowbacks and even sew-ons, but only two EK2s in two years. I bought them both. One is this one unmarked, second one is third core type marked "J" on small ring. So, either tool mark or Juncker piece.
