Thanks for replies, guys. In fact I didn´t stole it - as it was in other´s hand, it must be considered as robbery.

Maybe others took it as a fake, since it looks so good and "fresh" ?!
I think it was typical combination of bad photos, lack of description, auction ending at two o´clock afternoon and shipping only to Germany.

    Hi guys,
Here is my new EK1 mm FR.
Found in France and engraved on the reverse.
The engraving reads : WII 1917 6(over)VII and z.v.l. below the catch .
WII must be Wilhelm the 2 and 1917 the year.
I guess the zvl are initials. But the 6 over VII I don't know, date or unit ? Any ideas ??

    Marc

    6. July 1917, old style of writing dates. Nice cross, Marc!

Nothing special. All quiet on Western front. It´s the time between the crash of Nivelle offensive (9. May 1917) and beginning of Third Battle of Ypres (Paschendaele) (16. July 1917). But the day of award is not the day of brave deed (mainly if we speak about EK 1st class). In June 1917, Germans attacked at Chemin des Dames and at Morronville.

Btw, as I remember from Ian Kershaw´s Hybris, it took about 3 months for Adolf Hitler´s officer to persuade officials to award Corporal Hitler with EK 1. class for the deed he was promised to be awarded for.

Interesting engraving, I have never before seen
dates written in such a way.

    Something for gourmets.

EK2 1870 in nice condition with drilled out jumpring. As you see on detailed photos, it is not jeweler´s repair, but genuine variation. Second one I have seen in my collecting "career". I missed the first one as it was sold for 400 euros, but with this second one I was lucky.
