    Hello again,
Can anyone recommend a good book concerning EK's I hadn't realised there were so many variations and would like to learn some history regarding them?
    Cheers,
    navyman.

If I were going to recommend a book on Imperial Eks, it would
have to be Stephen Previtera's The Iron time. It has a good history of the Iron cross and is filled with a ton of great pictures.

Just got back from 10 days holiday. Some great crosses still being shown! I'd agree with Greg. The Iron Time is a good book with plenty of good pictures. Gordon Williamson's book is excellent for 1939 cross collectors.

    Thanks Greg and GlenR,
I'll look out for those. Glen, could you let me know the title of Gordon Williamson's book? (Glen, What bike? PM as it's off topic).
    Cheers,
    navyman.

Gordon's book is "The Iron Cross of 1939"
    The publisher's website is Home
As the title suggests, there's only a brief section on Imperial pieces but it covers all grades of the 1939 award.
    Cheers,
    Glenn.

    Thank you Glenn,
The publishing co. looks as though there will be no difficulty when I'm asked, "What would you like for christmas", this year! Plenty of good looking books there.
    Cheers,
    Guy.

Back from me hols. DUJAILAH, congrats on you obtaing that very nice boxed Sy-Wagner EK I, looks great !....Re books on EK's, Stephen Previtera's 'The Iron time' and Gordon Williamson's ' The Iron Cross, A history 1813-1957', i can strongly recommend, super books !, however.....for the serious Imperial EK collectors, copies of the following should be hunted down... first, 'Das Eiserne Kruez' (Preussen-Sammlung Max Aurich) by Friedhelm Hyde, 1st printed, i believe during the Great War, last published 1980 by biblio verlag Osnabruck. Secondly, 'The Iron Cross of Prussia and Germany' by A.E.Prowse, this is a superb refrence book and is my favourite. These two books are RARE, but not impossible to find.
